Indonesia Day

On the 15th of August 2014, my school celebrated Indonesia's Independence, which is actually on the 17th of August. In the morning, there was a flag hoisting ceremony, and the Year 8's (my grade) were involved in it. Some of us were the choir, others were the ones reading, and 3 people were chosen to raise the flag. After that, there were house games. Each house (Sempati, Komodo, Naga and Garuda) were split into 4 smaller groups, meaning there were 16 groups altogether. I ended up in Sempati 4. The house games were really fun and continued on for 2 periods, until recess. After recess, the years 7, 8 and 9 did quizzes about Indonesia and painted Indonesian puppets called 'wayang' which means 'shadow', while the years 10, 11 and 12 cooked and danced. Then we all had Homeroom, where we  added our finishing touches on our decorated classes and on our models whom we had already designed clothes for using different types of materials. At the end of the day, we all gathered in the multi court and watched performances by students and teachers and watched the fashion show. The winners were announced, and my class, 8B, won second for one of the quizzes.
